OVERVIEW
Workday has over 60% of the Fortune 500 as customers — companies whose stock performance tells a story of what great business operations look like. Stock 'N Roll asked a simple question: what if that data didn't just live in a spreadsheet, but in a guitar solo?
Working with a data sonification specialist, composers, and data technologists, we mapped billions of customer data points — stock prices, closing prices, daily market fluctuations — and reimagined them as musical notes. Those notes became unique guitar solos performed by KISS legend Paul Stanley. 65 custom rock 'n roll experiences were created for Workday's top customers and delivered via a personalized CRM email campaign.
Shortlisted and awarded Silver at the Clio Awards 2026 in B2B Audio Craft / Music.
WHAT I OWNED
Concept Development: Led the creative and strategic development of the data sonification concept — identifying the insight, scoping the technical partnership, and building the business case for using customer financial data as a creative raw material.
Partnership & Production: Managed the collaboration across a data sonification specialist, composer, and data technologist to translate billions of data points into playable musical compositions.
Sales Enablement Integration: Positioned Stock 'N Roll as a personalized sales tool within Workday's broader rock star campaign, creating 65 custom experiences tailored to individual customer stock histories for CRM delivery.
THE CHALLENGE
B2B sales outreach is forgettable by default. The brief was to give Workday's sales team something a customer would actually remember — a personalized, emotionally sticky moment built from their own business data. The creative solution had to be technically credible, culturally bold, and specific enough to feel like it was made for them alone.
